Jay-Z wants your song on the basketball Court
The retired rapper-turned-Def Jam president is a part-owner of the US
National Basketball Association NBA team - and he has taken on the task of giving
them a new theme tune.
Carter has teamed up with New York
radio station Hot 97 and soft drinks firm Sprite to
launch a contest to find a new tune.
The winner will meet Jay-Z, record the song and perform it at a Nets home
game. The song will also be played at home games in the future.

series of children's books to teach young children the

The children series will be published after he finishes his first
autobiography, according to 50 Cent whose real name is Curtis Jackson.

and the Kaiser Family Foundation has announced the 3rd Annual Rap-It-Up/Black AIDS Short Subject (RIU/BASS) Film Competition. Following two successful years that include over 1000 screenplay submissions and four winning short films, the competition provides a platform to creatively explore issues that surround HIV/AIDS in African-American, Afro-Caribbean, and Afro-Latin communities in the U.S., including stigma and discrimination, Black male sexuality, homophobia, and perceptions of masculinity, femininity and gender roles. The winning film will televise on BET sometime around World AIDS Day (December 1, 2006), and be submitted for viewing at independent film festivals around the world.
